Opposites Attract
My hubby and I came from Venus and Mars, respectively. Let's not talk about the big things like personalities, hobbies, principals, values, beliefs. For the smallest things in life -
1. Curtain
He thinks there are some are binoculars around the windows, so curtains have to be down at all time. I think my neighbours are not interested in how I eat or skip around the house, I like curtains up. So we are ready to fix our poor curtains once a year.
2. After Work Activity
I like to chat. He likes to watch TV.
3. TV programs
I like TVB series on VCDs. He like channel-switching to watch news all over again in different languages. So we face different monitors at night.
3. Property search
He looks at the views, the facing, the quality of internal fixtures. I look at the total price, and the discounts.
4. Car
I like any car that can move with a working air-con. My dream car was a pink picanto. He once spent all his savings on a sports car. Luckily that's before we met.
5. Sports
He likes the gym, jogging and sports of any kind. I, if I ever do any sports, it has to be pretty (like dancing), or involves comfortable group of nice people (like 2X2 badminton).
6. Food
He likes green vegetables, chinese dessert soup, and fried crispy stuff. I like meat, cheesecake, and grill or steam with lots of saltish gravy. To accomodate, we order what I like and what he likes and put on lots of weight.
I read somewhere that, when it comes to choosing a mate, we subconsciously drives towards people with greater genetic differences. Just like batteries creates energy with opposite signs. I like to assume the greater difference in DNA, the more compatible the couple is.
Oh we are such a compatible pair.
