Meet Up In Our Dreams

Finally I stay at home today.

As I was answering the one millionth phonecalls, I heard Riyah trying to make Bevan take his afternoon nap. He refused, keep whining and shouting, asking to go "out", open the "door", play with "Mommy" and "Daddy".

I marched in the room, carried him and danced around the bed for 5 seconds, put him on the bed, and lied down myself. I pretended to yawn 3 times, and I said
"Hi Bevan, Mommy will sleep with you, and we'll meet in the dream ok?"

He said "Uhm Uhm." (which means ok)

"Where do you want to meet in the dream? Maybe at Mac Garden? We'll meet at the carpark?"
He said "Uhm Uhm."

"Mommy will sit beside Ronald Mcdonald's, and Bevan sits on his lap. And we'll ask Gong Gong to buy burger for us."
He said "Uhm Uhm." (eyes closed)

"Mommy will feed Bevan with burger, and Bevan says "Hot!" so we blow at the burger."
He laughed, eyes closed.

"After that Mommy carry Bevan and we move to the area with aircon, because mommy feels hot!"
He was falling asleep.

"And in our dream, Ronald Mcdonalds follows us to our seat. Hee.."
He started snoring.

Riyah looked at me like I am such a miracle. I sat there thinking whether we would really meet in our dreams if I fall asleep. I laughed at my bimbo-ism, and sneaked out the room.

Feeling much better than selling a 3 carat diamond.

Bevan @ 15 to 17 months

These few months, Bevan has really grown. It seems to have happened overnight that he decided to behave like a big brother.

He is funny

He imitates the way I talk like when I say "oh my god". When I am sad, he points his fingers at my cheeks and say "mommy smillie!" When Leslie is angry with him, he calls "Daddy, hahaha, haha!" He acts out fall down and say "de dao". He makes sure everyone knows it whenever he poos. He asks for sayang whenever he kicks something and feels painful.

He is chatty
He started calling himself boy boy, repeats everything I say. Like when I am talking to Leslie something like "This car looks nice", my little parrot would say "nice, hee hee." I ask "what is that?", he says "that, heeee." So his vocabulary expands everyday, in mandarin and english.

He is growing fast
He recognises all the flash cards! And I like the way he picks up a book in a bookshop and pretend to read, looks so academic.

He is our cheerleader.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Eve of Eve
We had dinner with my parents and relatives in a popular restaurant. The waiters were part-timers, they mixed up food, food was cold, the fins soup has no fins, and they thought we had paid $100 deposit when we had only paid $50. For the first time in my life that I ordered a glass of coke in a nice restaurant, it came in a can with no ice no glass and no straw. Luckily Bevan made everyone laughs, and my parents and relatives left early to prepare for their Harbin trip the next day.
Eve
Dinner with Leslie's family. It was a fantastic steamboat with fantastic food. I dare to say its the best steamboat I've ever had! The soup base was fantastic, the spread was good, even the abalone (something which I always think its the same family as rats. Eeww sorry!) tasted especially good. I couldn't get up after the meal.

Chu Yi
For the first time my little family operated like a REAL family. Leslie led us into a private hongbao-giving and photo-taking sessions at home, before we left for my mum-in-law, grandma-in-law's place. It's so special. But not enough to make myself enjoy looking at myself in the photos. I look so blessed. A bit too blessed with the additional 20kg. Nope I am not kidding.

Chu Er
We went to sis-in-law's place for another round of steamboat. At night they came to our place for my little italian meal. I cooked spaggheti, garlic bread, and chicken cream soup, ordered pizzas, they were praising me for my cooking skills! They were just so polite and nice to me. Orrgh. I am grateful.

Chu San
We went to buy a new 37' LCD TV at Takashimaya (Yipee! It's arriving this Sunday) so that we don't have to turn on our projector theatre for watching news, and Bevan gets to watch more Baby Einstein. Went to Leslie's friend's place, and then to another sis-in-law's place for yet another round of steamboat. Till then, my backache has reached a torturing-piercing-pain-till-I-can-cry state. I fell flat on my bed when we reached home.

Water-Splashing-Call

Today I had a water-splashing-wakeup call from myself -- I am already in my 37th week!

That means, I am going to deliver anytime. Suddenly I feel... So real. So nervous. So guilty. It's so awakening.

From today onwards, work/ business/ stress/ staffs problems/ timeline/ diamond stock/ invoices... can wait. My last one week (or two) of pregnancy is the most important thing in my life now. I am going back to the office tomorrow and handover everything, and stop the feeling of depression and stress and self-pity.

I will then laze at home, be motherly, stay cheerful, rest, play with Bevan, and take my vitamins and calcium and iron tablets. And enjoy the kicks and punches.

Decorations

I used to make my own furniture. I made my own curtains, carpet, cupboard.

That’s on top of common things like file, wallet, pants, Indian designed spaghetti strapped top, scrunchy and bag etc. If I am not running almost a one-man-show-business, I would be sewing bedsheet pillows pajamas sweater for my baby. I derive a sense of peace as I crafts these little things. So it's a pity to note that I don't craft them very well. I just make to my own liking and, ahem, taste.

My fingers got itchy since it’s a Chinese New Year that we stay in Singapore.

Disorientation

I had disappeared for sometime. That's because I had a few lousy and busy weeks.

Its probably the hormones, or the extra kilos, or the daily migrains, or the backache, or the rush orders to be fulfilled before CNY, or the handover before confinement, or the junk food, or the tiredness, or the water retention, or the struggle to give more time and love to Bevan, or the sexy girls with brown curly highlight and brown manicures, with waistlines, gliding in front of me on the streets. I actually had been tearing quite a few times in the nights.

So though I have a lot a lot to update especially about my dear prince who has just turned 17 months. I need to come back slowly when I get myself back into one piece. And recollect what time management is.
